Hi Everybody,

At the St Louis meeting we discussed a number of subjects and I would like to revisit two of them now.

The first was a suggestion that we "Kids" supply at least one wheelchair per bus for use in helping some of our folks getting around at any of the stops that the buses make. Is there still interest in doing this? If so, I will make some phone calls to various rental facilities near the Denver hotel and find out daily rates etc.

The second suggestion that I would like to revisitwas the suggestion that our group take on the responsibility of planning future reunions so the folks who have been doing this year after year can just relax and enjoy. If we are serious about doing this, the time to start for next year is now. I'd like to get the ball rolling by suggesting we look into planning a reunion in the area outside of Washington D.C. in Virginia close to the new Steve F Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum Center. It looks to me that we could easily spend two days (the Thursday and Friday) just exploring the museum facility. http://www.nasm.si.edu I think the original "Swoose" is housed there.

Then perhaps a Saturday visit to the WWII Memorial (less traffic on the weekend)

The following 15th Air Force Groups have held reunions there within the past year or are holding one there this year. 82nd Fighter Wing, 483rd Bomb Group, and the 456th Bomb Group.

An alternative could be the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson in Dayton.

What do you think?

Tim

Tim,

I would love to have a reunion in the Washington area, as soon as possible would be just right for me.

Given the thin air in Denver, I think having wheelchairs available on Thursday and Friday is a must.   Perhaps we could enlist Larry Geller's help on this since I think he lives in the Denver area?

Ann,

I think using Larry Geller is a great idea.  Not only that, he has lots of connections in the area.  Who knows, he might even be able to arrange the wheelchairs free or at least a reduced price.  Although the price that Tim found wasn't too bad at all.

The wheelchairs are a very good idea, especially after last year's experience.

My two cents worth!
