I am seeking any information re: the B17 crew that was commanded by pilot Robert Lewis, and that included my uncle, Mike Stopa who was the flight engineer. Their plane was called Pandora's box, and missions were flown during Feb-August, 1944 out of Celone Field, Foggia Italy, including Brod, Yugoslavia on Apr2; Ploesti in Apr/May; Wiener-Neustadt May 10; and Bergamo,Italy on July 6 . In particular I am looking for contact info for surviving crew member Edward B. Pearson. He and Jules Rose are the only living members from that crew. Any recollections of the plane, the crew, or the missions flown would be greatly appreciated,-- and in particular any info on location of Ed.B. Pearson. Crew members on Pandora's Box included Robt Lewis, Roger Moran, Jules Rose, John Jusziewicz, Edward B. Pearson, Andrew Slobodian, Mike Stopa, Walford Harrell, and Don Wormington.

Yes, I have seen the picture of Robert Lewis crew, and am in contact with Julie Lewis, daughter of the pilot. Thank you for posting it. I have also found 4 pictures for Roger T. Moran, bombardier on the crew, and trying to contact submitter. Moran was shown on more than one crew, but is on Julie's crew list for Robert Lewis crew.  Was it common to move personnel around to cover gaps, or were crews mostly kept intact? I also noticed that the CO for the 772nd, James W. Patton was decorated for same mission as my uncle Mike Stopa (May 10, Wiener-Neustadt) and submitted Mike Stopa picture for the cd#1. I wonder if any others surviving from the 772nd were on the same mission, and have recall of it, or the medal ceremony?
Thanks for reply.  David Gullet
