I have been observing this over a while and today someone provided an excellent external link over at the a2asimulations forum.Anyway here are some homebuilt B-17 cockpits (meant to work with a B-17 simulator add on for Microsoft Flight Simulator X).Yes,the controls and instruments work.Amazing isn't it.

This was probably before their accu-sim B-17 enhancement came out though.
These guys must have some bucks though for accurate cockpits,working controls and instruments.

Here are some other ones although the cockpit's are not accurate (due to someone not having the room size for it).
