Hi,

My name is Raymond Calamari the nephew of Louis H. Calamari who flew in the 773rd from March to August 1944.  He was also a bombardier although a little older than you.  Would have been 94.  He flew 41 missions on The Simp, Vaudeville, It's Coming Back, Ragged But Right and Betty Lou.

I know it is a long shot but did you two ever cross paths in briefing sessions prior to missions?  The sad part to my uncle Lou's story is, as a survivor of Pearl Harbor and 41 missions he died of complications of an appendicitis and died in Foggia.  The irony still shocks me.

This web site has been a wealth of information about missions and people he flew with.  I found his picture in the scrap book under Vos Crew and have been corresponding with John Vos, the son of Jim Vos.  Jim past away July '08.

Write back either way.  I am interested in anything about this time and place.

Thank you for my life and freedom.  No matter how the economy shakes out, it has to be better than what you went through.

Thank God for the 463rd!

Sincerely,

Raymond M. Calamari, Jr.
