Photo of Sunday, 7 April 2013 – a detailed look on one of our original USAAF uniforms. This one was bought as “unnamed” on e-bay some years ago without any insignias. These were bought separately and the uniform jacket was finished to the actual look for the Museum exhibition. Although most our our uniforms are in the 8th USAAF shape (of course!), this one of a senior pilot, late 1944, has the 15t
h USAAF shoulder patch... by this we want to honor also 15th USAAF airmen and to recall, that our country was area where operated both - the 15th USAAF with their first loss over Czechoslovak territory on 22nd February 1944 (three B-24s) and the 8th USAAF with their first loss over the Czechoslovak territory on 12th May 1944 (one B-17G - it was our great friend Jack C. Moore and his crew from the 100th BG... well, it was the 100th BG who had the very first 8AF loss over our country!)
