I remember several years past when my dad got the 463rd's news letter every once in a while.
Now I'm not a member. Can I join the historical society to obtain the news letter? My mother also wants to get the news letter too (she misses it).
If so who do I send my membership dues to (address etc.) and how much are the dues.
I'm sorry for writing so much on Tim's McCord's website but I like helping other people out if I can or at least answering someones post.By the way thanks Tim for hosting this great website.

Hi Jon,

Holy cow, kiddo!  I had no idea that you and your mom weren't members of the 463rd Historical Society.  Of course, both of you are welcome to join.  Dues for 2007 are $15.00, but will be going up to $25.00 per person, beginning next year.  Like everything else, costs are rising.  You can send your check to:  463rd Bomb Group, P. O. Box 1137, La Canada, CA 91012.

The next newsletter should have some pictures from the Dallas reunion in it.  I had loads of fun.  Email me and I'll tell you about it.

Jon,

I, too, had lots of fun at the reunion in Dallas, meeting new "Kids" as well as a couple of 'new' veterans attending.

I had no idea that your mother was not still getting the newsletter.  I would have corrected that much sooner if I had known.

This year they raised the dues to $25/year for 2008, but as Merrylee said, you can certainly join the group at anytime and I would encourage you to do so.

I appreciate so much your contributions to the bulletin board.  You obviously are well informed and have spent some time researching your father's time with the Group.  I also appreciate very much all the pictures and documents you submitted for the pictorial history.  They are a very valuable addition to the histoy.

Thanks, Jon.  Say hello to your mother for me.

Joel

Thanks Joel for those kind words.I will say hello to my mom for you.
That's great that more ole timer veterans of the 463rd showed up at the reunion.I wish I could have gone.
Here is a suggestion for another CD project.
Maybe it would be nice if someone could bring a digital camcorder to one of those reunions and interview some of the veterans for a few minutes to put them on a Video History of the 463rd CD.You know perhaps a video CD (or maybe a DVD) with like an hours worth of video.
It would be great to preserve some of their personalities for future generations while they are still with us.
Well anyway have a great day!

Jon,
As a matter of fact, while in Dallas at the reunion, I bought a digital camcorder to do just what you suggested.  Unfortunately, I was so busy I really didn't have time to learn how to use it properly so when I thought I was actually recording, I wasn't.  And when I thought I wasn't recording, I was.  So I have some great shots of the floor, people's rear ends, etc. etc. but very, very little valuable video.  Perhaps by next year, I'll have it figured out and be able to do some better stuff with it.

We have been wanting to do something like this but no one had a video camera so I finally just bought one.

Anyway, thanks for all your contributions.  Our best to you and your Mom.

Joel
